nRF5340 - sensitivity and ADDR0

Hi support team,

It is an old question but we would like to understand why

"Typical sensitivity applies when ADDR0 is used for receiver address correlation. When ADDR[1...7] are used for receiver address correlation, the typical sensitivity for this mode is degraded by 3 dB"

  • Hi Salas,

The nRF52/53 has two demodulators, one is called by the designers as "hypermode" and is used to get better sensitivity. This demodulator is only available on pipe0. I don't have any more details for you, and there may also be some design secrets they want to not share. I think "hypermode" use some "tricks" to find the address in noise.

    Best regards,
    Kenneth
