Basics / Getting started - can't mount the USB mass storage disk

First day using the new dev kit nRF52833-DK. Connected it up following the instructions on nordicsemi.com/start52833dk - computer won't mount the JLINK removable disk so I can't drag the demo HEX file there as per the instructions - any ideas please?

What USB port are you connecting to on your nRF52833DK?

I can only see one USB port on the nRF52833DK - the one that you are shown to connect to in the instructions on nordicsemi.com/start52833dk - it's step 2 / 3 - see screen shot:

This is directly connected to the only USB A port on my laptop. It is connected directly, not via a USB hub or any other device. The cable is known tested good. thanks.

 There are actually two USB ports but the one shown in the image is the correct one.

 The instructions you point to, do not mention this. However, I'm assuming you are pointing to the Getting started with nRF5 SDK tutorial? That said, it is strange that your computer does not register the device correctly. Can you please try to download and install the nRF Connect for Desktop PC application? In this you can install the Programmer app and test to see if your board is registered correctly.

Hi. Yes - the readme.txt with the heart rate demo for this DK says that the JLINK removable drive should pop up when you connect it using the USB cable, and then you can copy the HEX file to the JLINK removable drive.

I already have the NRF Connect for desktop PC V3.7.0 installed on this computer.

 Does the DK show in the Programmer app?
