New Generation nRF51822s

The new generation of nRF51822's have a few neat new features, particularly the automatic power management piece, that I would like to potentially leverage in our project. Is there somewhere I can go to order a development board or dongle or something that I could be sure had the new chip on it so I could test our code? I can't imaging the update would break our existing firmware, but I can imagine myself messing up the implementation of the new stuff without a bit of trial and error.

Thanks! Jeremy

  • Ah I misunderstood as the new nRF52 does have a big new feature all about automatic power management (over the whole chip). The nRF51-DK and nRF51-dongle have the 3rd revision chip on them, the older development boards (which have been marked not recommended for some time) have the rev 2 chip on them.

No - nothing gets recalled - just a new model (in this case the DK and Dongle) were introduced, the old ones are still out there.
