MQTT SIMPLE can't connect the default or my mqtt broker hostname

I come from China and am using your company's NRF9160DK product now. I burned asset_cracker_v2 a long time ago. There is no problem connecting NRF_CLOUD, but when I burned DEMO MQTT Simple, I found that I could hardly connect the broker. I have also configured NBIOT network in the PRJ file, and I have tried to change the server for many times, but it can hardly be realized on the board. It has bothered me for several days, please help me.

Hi Jerry,

1) I wonder why you enable TLS on your application on purpose in the begining? because it is one optional choice so your building will not include this overlay-tls..conf  TLS configuraiton by default. 

2) The log you shared shows noting about which topic you subscribe to, so this might be one issue related to how you build the sample.

I strongly suggest you use NCS fo VS code to build nRF9160: Simple MQTT — nRF Connect SDK 1.9.1 documentation (nordicsemi.com) with default setting and show me the log from LTE Link Monitor->Open LOG FILE.
