9160 unable to get PIN code

hi Support team,

customer get samples with 9160, but find out they are not able get pin code.

i searched the spec, and at command +CPIN, it is not able to read out the pin code, and if i want to set new pin code, i need to know the previous pin code.

if i am correct? so my question is how can we get the pin code?

Not all SIM cards require PIN codes.

There is no support for reading out the PIN code of a SIM card. What makes you think this should be possible? The PIN code should come with the SIM card when you buy it, if not you should contact the operator.

sorry i didn't make myself clear, the PIN CODE means below PIN CODE, not sim card pin code.

the question for this is that when customer want to try nrf cloud, they need to using IMEI and PIN code to download the CA, and now it is impossible to do this.

customer got sample, there is no sticker there. only SIP module.

In short, the "PIN codes" that you are referring to have nothing to do with the +CPIN command, which is for the SIM card. You can choose the PIN code or ownership code yourself when registering to nRF Cloud.
