Custom board nrf52811

Hi, 

I have a BLE-project running on the nRF52840 DK. Now I made my own custom board with the nrf52811 and want to program it with the DK. 

I did read I have to change some settings to program it on the nrf52811 on Nordic Semiconductor Infocenter. Do I have to use the folder of pca10056e? I do only see a folder of s112 inside. But I was using s140. Does this make any difference?

Can someone help me out? it is my first time doing this.

Yes, it's much easier to start with a PCA10056e project and then add the code into that project since it's already configured for the nRF52811.

The S112 is the Softdevice that we recommend using for nRF52811. It should be ok as long as you're using features that is supported by S112.

The code worked fine for the DK, but I have some issues on the custom board. So you refer to start a new project and put the code inside?

I think it is a problem with the UART. Do you know what the problem might be? It gets stuck by the UART initialization.

Hi,

Is the program actually reporting any specific errors except for the LED not blinking as you expected? Have you checked the log?

If I run it in debug mode I do get this.

I think that it goes wrong by buttons_leds_init. But I don't know if I'm debugging in the right way.

Does your custom board have an external low frequency crystal?

Yes it has. Can the problem occur because I’m initializing uart but don’t use uart pins on my custom board?

Hi,

Can you:

1. Post your code (I can make the case private first if you prefer it).
2. Re-build the program in debug mode and re-flash the code to your device. Is the log more verbose now? Does it detail where it asserts?

To rebuild your code in debug mode in SES, change from Release to Debug in upper left corner:
