Tools for production programming nRF53 FLASH and external QSPIFLASH

Hi,

We are starting to work on a production tester which will need to program a DUT based on the nRF5340.  Both cores will need to be programmed and an external QSPIFLASH memory.  Our current methods for programming during development have been to use the nrfjprog tool and the qspiloader.py Python script with the Segger JLINK emulator.  The QSPIFLASH on the DUT is powered from a switched +3V supply requiring some micro pin preinitialization code to run on the micro to enable the supply.  Is it possible to preconfigure the micro using nrfjprog?  What tool do you suggest using for programming QSPIFLASH using the Segger JLINK?

Hi,

I answered a similar question in this thread:  Controlling GPIO within nrfjprog . The team has not been able to prioritize the feature request yet, unfortunately. But maybe you can set the pins from your python script?

With nrfjprog, you can try to use the --memwr command to set the GPIOs followed by --run to continue execution. The question is if the loader script will trigger another reset of your device as that would cause the PIN configs to be reset again.
