case about nRF9160 CMW500 test Can't identify

Hi

1.Referring to this tutorial, the customer tested the cat-m mode, and the equipment could not be identified by the customer instrument. How to deal with it?

 Using nRF9160 against R&S CMW500 (or CMW290) in signalling callbox mode

    Is that configuration file (M1_configuration file for signalling.zip), which can be found at the end of the thread you mentioned, definitely installed on the CMW500 tester?

    If so, would it be possible to program an AT Client sample into the nRF9160. And after that, with LTE Link Monitor, enter the AT commands:

     AT+CFUN=4                              // to set the device to flight mode
     AT%XSYSTEMMODE=1,0,0,0        // to enable LTE-M1 mode
     AT+CFUN=1                              // to set the device to full functionality

    In this way we were able to establish a connection between the nRF9160 and the CMW500.


    I understand that you want to use the Serial LTE Modem example, but at least this way you could rule out hardware failures. Then it would be easier to find out if your application program requires changes.

    1.By importing the configuration file, we have solved the customer's problem.

    2. Because some RF testing laboratories with CMW500 have low capability, they are afraid of software upgrade or configuration modification affecting other WIFI, BLE or CAT-M1 module tests, so they are generally unwilling to import configuration files.

    3. It is best to indicate which configuration options for the CMW500 must be modified in order for the laboratory to make minimal changes and restore.

    4.By the way, will this version of the module test be different?    nRF9160-SICA BAA

    It's great that you managed to establish a connection between the tester and the DUT.

    What tests are you planning to perform? I am asking this because we should be able to run spurious emissions tests on our device, but we are having problems with the testing. If you have time, could you take a look at this thread?

  • As far as I know, the version of the nRF960 SiP should not affect how the tests are done.
