Thingy91 not Programming

Hi,

I follow the instruction to update the https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/ug_thingy91_gsg.html 

Updating the firmware in the nRF52840 SoC and following through the USB method.

I don't have the 1.27mm cable to follow through with the external debug probe method.

But, When i select the device with Enable MCU Boot Selected, i get the below error.

Hi,

Did you make sure that you pressed SW4 when you switched the Power on for debugging the nRF52840?

Please upload these files directly to this case. I can't see files located at external drives. You can use insert->Image/video/file option in the message reply box.

HI Jared, I do that. for whatever reason, the Thingy91 is not get detected in the nRF desktop.

I have programmed the nRF9160DK and got the data to the cloud using Twilio sim.

Also i have used External debug between the nRF9160DK and Thingy91 and programmed the Thingy91 with nRF52 connectivity bride, nRF9160 with Modem, and application firmware.

Still the thingy91 doesnt work in nRF desktop.

The two uarts exposed in device manager cannot find drivers. I have load the drivers as some in a post in the form told (like nRF 52 CDC driver) no help.

Both of above drivers did not work.(one form thing91 and the right one from the forum)

I was able to connect to Thingy91 Uart from mobile nRF connect app over nRF52 BLE

Also i got the data in cloud for Thingy91

The problem i have is getting it detected in nRF desktop and LTE monitor.

I have all latest of nRF desktop,programmer, and LTE monitor

Hi,

My understanding is:

1. You've used a debug cable between the nRF9160 DK to program both the connectivity fw on the nRF52 as well as the modem fw on the nRF9160 + the application.  But you're still not able to get it to connect to nRF Cloud. You've done the same with the nRF9160 DK and are able to get a connection. 
2. You've tried using the USB method by just connecting a USB cable to the thingy:91 but you say that the device doesn't appear on the nRF programmer app. 

Questions:

1. Could you try the same on another computer? The result would indicate whether the issue is with your Thingy:91 itself or your computer configuration etc.
2. Can you try to reinstall nRF Connect Desktop. Make sure to delete all of the plugins by deleting all of the files from C:\Users\<user>\.nrfconnect-apps.

1. i have to try it a VM, i dont have another computer per say

2. I have tried re installing, i will try deleting plugins

3.I was able to get data of Thingy91 to nRF cloud, my problem is it doesnt get detected in the nRF desktop programmer or LTE monitor.

4.I have used DK to program thingy91 via 1.27mm SWD cable every time

5.Can you tell why the thingy91 uart doesnt load driver as in my posts?
