NPM1100 LED Connection

Hello,

I am using the NPM1100 in my next device and I had an inquiry regarding the LED connections to the CHG and ERR. I intend to use a 3V panel indicator which is plenty bright at 5mA although rated for up to 20mA.

I have already reviewed a question that seemed similar but didn’t quite follow:

The NPM1100 Product Specification it shows the following:

According to this the CHG and ERR sink 5 mA which for my LED is fine. However, I’m wondering do I need an external resistor? My understanding is that the VSYS is a regulated output of 5V. I did parse the example circuitry and found the following:

Again no external resistor shown, so I assume that the CHG and ERR have the necessary circuitry without the need for another resistor?

Apologies for the somewhat simple question but I thought it best to make sure before continuing.
