Facing issue of power profiler in nrf connect desktop app

Hello,

We are facing issue to select the device on power profiler app in nrf connect desktop application. 

Issue:

At first instance, Segger J link was getting connected to power profiler and we were able to see the J link in select device tab. However when we program the other arm controller from other manufacturer by that J link and again connect it into the setup of power profiler, we are not able to see the device in select device tab,

Now we are not able to use power profiler, even though we tried with reinstalling it, we didnt get positive results. 

Kindly help us to resolve this issue.

Hello,

Are you using PPK1 or PPK2? (Does it have a hole with LEDs in the center of the board, or is it the one that you place on top of a DK?

So you re-programmed the chip on the PPK, is that correct? If so, let me know what HW version you are using, and we can look into how to re-program it.

The board has hole and LEDs on one side of the PCB. It is the one we place on top of the DK, but we are not using the DK during current measurement. Please refer the attached photo for your reference.

PCB number is PCA63511.

We are measuring the current of BLE board through power profiler from nrfconnect desktop app. we are connecting the BLE board between red and black clip.

In nrf connect app, in power profiler utility we are not able to detect segger J link, however we are able to see it in device manager.

Ah, ok. I forgot that it also has holes. This is the PPK 1.

I am not sure, but from your picture, it looks like the COM (SW3) switch is in the EXT position. Is that correct? If so, can you please try to flip it back to "DK", and then try to program it using the programmer app?

As you can see, the COM3 in EXT position will disconnect the PPK from the debug interface, and hence it is not possible to program it.

We are measuring the current of the external hardware. SW2 and SW3 are on external position.

Hello Atul, 

Yes, i can tell from your picture that you ar measuring external HW, but if your issue is that the PPK is not responsive because you accidentally re-programmed the PPK, you can flip it back, open the COM port in the Power Profiler app, and if it asks you whether you want to program the device, click "Yes".

Hi Edvin,

The issue has been resolved, the issue is with SW4(power select) switch, the position of the switch was wrong. Now we kept it at reg position and our setup started to work.
