ble current consumption on connected mode

hello everybody,

I measured the current consumption in two cases : in the advertising mode the current is around 4 ~ 5uA, & in the connected mode, the current is 160 uA , I think the current in this case is very high , I expected it to be minimum than this, I'm asking about if there is any possibility to minimize the current in that case or not ? ?

I read on the datasheet that the Arm processor consumes around 150 uA besides the system current, so if this is correct, then we'll have an offset current equals to 150uA besides the system current, what do you see? ?

  • If you are using nRF development board (for eg PCA10028) then the current measurement will not include LED power. Please read the data sheet for it. If you are using custom board then most probably the reason for increase in current is due to the LED's. Have you tried to measure the current by turning LEDs off?
