nRF Connect for Desktop v3.2.0 not working

Hello,

I am running nRF Connect for Desktop v3.2.0 on Win10 64-bit machine.  Everytime I launch an applet, such as Power Profiler, I get a new blank window and nothing happens.  This happens with all the applets:

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling but the problem persists.  Please advise.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

  • Hi Mark

Just to clarify, you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling nRF Connect all together as well, not just uninstalling and reinstalling the apps in nRFConnect? I've asked internally if anyone has seen/experienced this issue, and I'll update you when I know something. In the meantime, can you uninstall this version, and try using v3.1.0 instead?

    Best regards,

    Simon

  • Hi again Mark

The most likely reason that we can think of is that there are some files from an older installation that is interfering with your current version of nRF Connect. Try uninstalling it and check that there are no nRF Connect files left on your computer before reinstalling. Also, try shutting down the computer completely between un- and re-install.

    Best regards,

    Simon

  • Another suggestion from a colleague who's encountered this multiple times, and had no luck uninstalling and reinstalling: Try pressing ctrl+R a few times when this occurs as it will reload the app.

Hopefully one of these approaches can help you, Mark!

    Best regards,

    Simon

  • Hello Simon,

I tried pressing Ctrl-R but that did not work.  Looks like it tried to reload but still it's blank.  I tried this on v3.1.0 as you suggested.  Any debug information that I can provide?

    Regards,

    Mark

  • Hi Mark

Does v3.1.0 work or not for you? The ctrl+R suggestion usually worked after a few times I was told. If you don't get into the apps it's hard to get any debug info. Have you tried removing and uninstalling nRFConnect completely and check if there are any "residual" files from nRFConnect still on your computer?

    Best regards,

    Simon
