nRF Connect install hangs on Windows

Hi,

I try to install nrfconnectsetup330ia32.exe on my Windows-10 x64 bit computer. The setup program hangs when the progress bar is at about 33%. It just sits there without using cpu resources.

The first time i installed, it installed successfully, but would not run. It complained about mismatch between some old version 2.x and new 3.x. Then I uninstalled everything Nordic/nRF from Windows "Add or remove programs", and also manually from /users/xxx/AppData.  After this uninstall/reamoval and also reboot, i am unsable to reinstall.

It seems that the USB drivers are installed, beceause i get new COM ports when i plug in the Thingy:91 USB cable.

Hi Ola

Sometimes an installer will trigger a separate driver installer in the background, and until the second installer is confirmed and completed the initial installer will not complete. Could this be the case here?

I left if running over night, but it did not complete.  I cannot see any dialog or UAC Eleveation dialog.

Segger software installed successfully from the link you gave.  But nRF Connect Setup still hangs. "Installing, please wait...", grene progress bar at about 33%.

I have asked the dev team for some more tips on debugging this and I'm still waiting for a response.

For anyone else following this uninstall old versions and retry, this worked for me.

I tried to update to 3.10.0 from 3.9.3, but stuck at 33%. Also, after unstall , manual removal of traces from Registery, Temporaray File, Program Files folders, the new Install does not proceed more than 33% even after a night long duration. The version 3.9.3 was working well. One day a notfication of new verion appeared. I clicked to update while in parallel SES was opened and I was working on some project in SES. Meanwhle, there was Wifi diconnectivity for some time. Then, the updat never recover. I tried all possible above mentioned methods.
