no apps on the nrf connect for desktop!

Hi there,

Yet again we are running into very basic issues with the nordic tools and software, and this is adding up to cost us massive amounts of time.

Within nrf connect for desktop, there were suddenly no more apps visible this morning. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling nrf Connect for desktop, but still there are no apps to open, not even the apps which I have already installed (Yes the installed and available states are checkied):

Please advise how to get this fixed asap please!

Kind regards,

Frikkie

  • Hello Frikkie,

This was very unfortunate, and I understand the frustration.

Can you please open the developer console with pressing CTRL+SHIFT+i. This will open the console inside the window and should provide any errors

What version of Windows are you working on? Do you have admin rights on your computer?

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind

  • Thanks Oyvind for the quick response, it really is appreciated

    Here is the consle log:

Working on Windows 10 and I indeed have admin rights.

I did note under the "filter" button on nrf connect for desktop, the "official" checkbox is not present under the sources section.

  • Thanks for providing this information. I will forward to our nRF Connect for Desktop team and get back to you within the day.

    Kind regards,

    Øyvind

  • Hi Oyvind,

Is there an update on this issue yet?

We had another issue after updating nrf connect for desktop, logged here. I dont know if this is maybe related?

    Kind regards,

    Frikkie

  • Ok so seems as if I have managed to do a clean uninstall and reinstall, and the apps are present again:

    1) Go to Windows "add or remove programs" and delete nrf connect for desktop, ALL nordic windows driver packages and all other programs associated with the keywords "nordic" or "nrf"

    2) Delete the folder %Appdata%/roaming/nrfconnect

    3) Delete the folder where the toolchain was installed

    4) Delete the %User%/.nrfconnect

    5) Delete %User%/Nordic

    6) Delete and uninstall the nordic drivers from the windows driver store using the following command in cmd:

    pnputil /delete-driver <example.inf> /uninstall

I install nrf connect for desktop again, and it is working.

I will not be upgrading ANY nordic application again, as this is the 3rd out of 3rd time we have issues with the software after an upgrade.
