nRFConnect can't detect Jlink after upgrading to 4.0.0

Hello,

I've recently got my notebook formatted and had to reinstall everything. I downloaded the 4.0.0 version of nRF Connect for desktop and Jlink v7.66a, but when I tried to write a .hex to my board, got the following error:

I get that some people posted for the same issue, like in this post: https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/97028/nrfconnect-unable-to-detect-jlink-after-using-version-4-0-0 and https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/96823/nrf-connect-v4-0-0-programmer-unable-to-detect-version-of-nrfjprog-dll

but I followed the same steps and didn't fix my issue.. I have a desktop with the same versions installed, and it works.. I tried checking the paths and it's the same on both, desktop and notebook..

Any thoughts?

  • I solved it by reinstalling nRF Command Tools and using the link https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfconnect-launcher/releases/download/v4.0.0/nrfconnect-setup-4.0.0-x64.exe. It still shows the message that the installed version does not match with the provided version (7.66a) but now I can access my J-link through Programmer v3.0.7.

I want to thank Mr. Dullius, representative for Nordic in South America, that answered my emails and helped me solve the issue.
