Regarding current time service

Hi,

I tried testing Current time service example provided in examples of SDK 15.3.0.The things I have noticed were

1)From Apple mobile it is able to discover current time service after getting connect,paired and disconnected and in between the proccess I was able to see some error messages too.Can you please let me know reason for those error messages and how to rectify them and also please let me now the reason why it has to go through connecting,disconnecting and pairing several times before discovering services.The below attached is the log info while testing on Apple mobile

2)From Android mobile it was not discovering service even after connecting several times as done in Apple mobile.The below capture contains log messages while testing CTS with Android mobile.

Please let me know whether I have to delete any bond information?and every time it is advertising erase bonds is being used and I also tried deleting bond information on nRF connect mobile application too.

Hi, 

4102 is the same as PM_CONN_SEC_ERROR_PIN_OR_KEY_MISSING. It means that encryption failed because the peripheral has lost the LTK for this bond. As indicated in this post, try to remove the bond on both sides of the link, and bond again.

can you please let me know where exactly I can delete these bonds?

On mobile first thing it is not at all getting bonded and In nrf52832 advertising_start() delete bonds function is called.

is that about these ways of deleting bond information mentioned by the post?If not,what is the way to delete bond information on link?

You have to implement the service on the android phone, and here is a BLE Android tutorial that will cover that. You might already know this post.

Does it mean to have customized android application with CTS Service or we can configure CTS Service on exsisting nRF Connect?

Hi Swathi,

As this post indicates it seems that the CTS Service is not native on Android. You have to implement the service on the android phone.

By having customized android application or by just configuring server in nRF Connect for mobile,as there is a option in like configure GATT Server.Can I implement the service by manually entering .ncs file data in nRF COnnect "Configure GATT Server" option?

You have to implement the service on the android phone, and here is a BLE Android tutorial that will cover that. Or take a look at this project that may be helpful. You cannot configure GATT Server on the android phone by loading .ncs file data into the nRF Connect mobile version. That is for the nRF Connect desk setting.

In this post https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/49448/testing-on-modules-of-alert-notification-application-and-immediate-alert-client-application it is said that we can configure server on nRF Connect.Please check and let me know which way is correct.I am totally confused with two different answers from nordic engineers for similar scenario.

Hi,

can you please let me know how soon I can expect reply on this connectivity issue and also as I mentioned in previous reply I am confused with those two different replies for almost same scenario.Please make me clear so that I can move forward.

And delay in your reply is delaying our project development too.If possible reply ASAP or in the meanwhile you find the solution to solve it, also suggest me the ways I can try around to solve the problem.I will be keep trying in parallel.

Sorry for the delay. You can configure GATT server on nRF Connect mobile with the following:

 

After the security procedure is complete, verify that the Current Time Service on the server has been discovered. The message "Current Time Service discovered on server." will be printed on the UART.

Hi Amanda H,

Thanks for the reply.After configuring server as you said.I was able to see the calender value in cts characteristics after getting connected same as it displayed in the final image you sent.And I am also able to print "Current Time Service discovered on server."  on the UART.

But,after that I have tried continuing further steps as mentioned in CTS document i.e pressing button 1 then I got disconnected from the device.The capture of log information is attached below:

This is not the official flow to test with the example as the Current Time Application documentation. I need more time to figure out the reason. Not sure this way is supported or not.
